Academic History!I have worked at EMCC as a work study student and a faculty member since 1992. I am a graduate of the Business Management Program at EMCC. My work experience, before pursuing higher education, came in the paper industry. I worked in the manufacturing process at Great Northern Paper Company in Millinocket. My job titles included utility worker in the mill, draftsman with the Central Engineering Department and Pipe Fitter/Welder with the Engineering Services Department. My practical technical experience came from working with process flow and process control piping systems, hydraulic piping systems, steam generation, and high pressure boilers / vessels and turbines. My experience includes both installations and maintenance. I completed my Bachelor's Degree in Applied Technology Education from the University of Southern Maine in May 2000. Since completing my degree work, I've pursued further education in AutoCAD, graphic arts, photo processing, and photo editing software applications. I served as the Department Chair of Welding Technology from 1996 - 2000. Although I am primarily an instructor in the Pipe Fabrication Concentration, I have also taught night welding courses, a Blueprint Reading and Drafting course in the Math and Sciences Department and Introductory AutoCAD in the CAD department. I have established curricula in both the Pipe Fabrication and the Math/Science areas.
