The Welding Technology Department is fortunate to have a well-experienced and energetic pool of instructors. Their backgrounds in construction, paper, chemical, power generation, pipe line and nuclear industries prove beneficial to students entering the field of welding as their chosen career. Also, a number of adjunct faculty members have graduated from Welding Technology at EMCC. They bring their valuable field experience into the Program, assisting our efforts to remain current with technology.

Chris Maseychik
 

Chris Maseychik is a 1993 Graduate of the Welding Technology program at EMTC.  He has worked in the technical field of welding for the past 11 1/2 years and recently has been hired to fill the faculty position of Mike Shaw.  Mike retired at the end of the fall 2004 semester.  A more through biographical information report will appear in the near future.

Stanley P. Siviski
 

Stan Siviski has been an instructor at EMCC since 1992.  He gained welding experience as an Ironworker in the pulp & paper and nuclear power industries. He also worked as a boilermaker in the shipbuilding industry at Bath Iron Works. 

Stan attended the University of Maine at Farmington and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Technology Education from the University of Southern Maine in Portland.  He has concentrated his efforts on developing the Metallurgy (WEL111) and Quality Assurance and Quality Control (WEL221, WEL223) courses with a high level of success.  Graduate feedback attests to the success Stan's efforts have produced.  His credentials make up an important element of Welding Technology.

Roland W. Clukey
 

Roland Clukey became a full time instructor in the Welding Technology Program in 1998. Prior to teaching at EMCC, he was an instructor at the Penobscot Job Corps Welding Program in Bangor.  Roland assumed the Department Chair position beginning the 2001-2002 academic year.

Roland is a Certified Welding Teacher, Professional Level, State of Maine Department of Education. He holds welding certifications with the Federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission for Pipe and Structural Certifications, U.S. Navy Structural Certification; American Welding Society Structural Certification; and a State of Maine Boiler Certification for pipe.  His technical background comes from the construction industry as a pipe welder working primarily with high-pressure steam boilers and nuclear power generation.

Roland likes to take advantage of the great outdoors in his spare time, fishing and hunting with his family.

Richard E. Brooker
 

Rick Brooker has worked at EMCC as a student and a faculty member since 1992.  He is a graduate of the Business Management Program at EMCC.  His work experience, before pursuing higher education, came in the paper industry.  Rick worked in the manufacturing process at Great Northern Paper Company in Millinocket.  His job titles included utility worker in the mill, draftsman with the Central Engineering Department and Pipe Fitter/Welder with the Engineering Services Department.  Rick's practical experience came from working with process flow and process control piping systems, hydraulic piping and systems, steam generation, high pressure boilers / vessels and turbines.  His experience includes both installations and maintenance. 

Rick completed his Bachelor's Degree in Applied Technology Education from the University of Southern Maine in May 2000. 

Rick has served as the Department Chair of Welding Technology from 1996 - 2000.  Although he is primarily an instructor in the Pipe Fabrication Concentration, he also has taught night welding courses and the Blueprint Reading and Drafting course in the Math and Sciences Department and Introduction to CAD in the CAD Department.  The curricula established in both the Pipe Fabrication and the Math/Science areas can be awarded to Rick's credit. 

Mountain biking, Kayak paddling, camping, skiing, digital photography, graphic design and the great outdoors offer Rick the best prescription for relaxation.
